Bonnie's Column: When it rains...
 

Everything was all set for me to present Take Senior Theatre Online: It's Fun and Creative! for the International Council on Active Aging. I had about an hour to spare when my Assistant Carolyn called. "Bonnie, the roads are icing up. You need to do your presentation from home." After glancing out the window, I picked up and left to do just that. Whew! What followed was a history-making winter storm. Icy roads and fallen trees kept us off the roads for a few days. And when we returned to the office, we discovered a swampy carpet. Melting snow was dripping through the roof.

That was a month ago. For the most part, we've been able to work and expect to be back in our main office space in a few days.

I've cycled through patience, frustration, concern, and more than a bit of worry. An old adage: "Take one day at a time," helps me immensely. It is a reminder to focus on the tasks at hand and not to worry about those things beyond my control.

We pride ourselves on prompt, personalized service and it's been difficult to keep on top of everything. Please be patient with us as we work through all of the additional tasks related to the disaster.

Theatres are starting to book performances, and a return to some semblance of normal life seems possible. Now is the time to begin planning your "re-entry." Decide which play or project you will use to reintroduce yourself to audiences. We're here to help you find something wonderful!
