80 minute comedy
6 men, 8 women
A pair of one night stands during the Northeast Blackout of 1965 come back to haunt two couples when one moves in next to the other at an active adult community 44 years later.
It is a beautiful Saturday morning in June, 2009. In a small courtyard in front of four condos, Barbara Allen frantically searches for the right words to say in her weekly newspaper advice column. With a deadline rapidly approaching, Barbara decides to write about the budding romance between Selena, the unmarried daughter of her current neighbors, Tom and Rita Carpenter, and Jason, the equally unmarried son of new neighbors, Mike and Kiki Daniels.
While the flames of love-at-first-sight blaze within Selena and Jason, embers of a-long-ago-love begin to glow again between Kiki and Tom, and Rita and Mike. Each thinks they know the other, but none can put their finger on it. It isn’t until later that night when Charlie Miller, Barbara’s live-in boyfriend, suggests the most unlikely of scenarios: the four had unknowingly had an affair with each other’s spouse on the night of the big Blackout of 1965.
Fortunately, cooler heads prevail until the sobering consequence to their promiscuity forty-four years earlier hits them: Tom and Mike may not be Selena’s and Jason’s respective fathers. This would not normally be a problem, but Selena and Jason have fallen in love and want to get married!
