Committee of Eight
Classmates create a bright, lighthearted, and spirited musical that uses parodied song lyrics to easily-recognizable tunes.

75 minute musical

About the play: The committee has been asked to create a show that will entertain everyone attending the upcoming college reunion, so they gather their experiences, stories, and characters to use in the production. Tied together with parodies of well-known songs, the production takes shape, creating a light-hearted musical. This show is easy to produce and fun for both performers and audiences. You’ll discover that you’re in good hands with this writer—an experienced Senior Theatre director who really knows how to create successful pieces for older performers!
About the playwright: In addition to being an actress, a former director of the Acting Up! Troupes, and the creator/director of Intergenerational Musical Tributes, Joyce Stern Greenberg has been writing song parodies since her teen years. She has always thrived on looking for the humor in life, so it should come as no surprise that her latest project came about as a result of her experience of crossing paths with a classmate she hadn’t seen since graduating from Northwestern University many years ago. Thus, “Committee of Two” was born, the smaller, two-person version of “Committee of Eight.” Find Joyce on the web at www.AgingIngenueProductions.com.
