30 minute comedy
1 man, 1 woman
Bernie and Evelyn are loving their road trip to celebrate forty-two years of marriage when they get lost somewhere in South Dakota. Their evening spent at a second-rate motel reveals a first-rate relationship. It’s a lively and hilarious show with very spirited characters! Bernie and the Beast was commissioned by the Actors Theatre in Louisville, KY and premiered at Rochester Productions in Rochester, NY.
Why Marsha Sheiness wrote the play:
Bernie and Evelyn were my cousins and I always thought they were the two funniest people in our family. I wrote the play because I was fascinated by their strong and loving long-term relationship and wanted others to see their depth and humor!
