“Committee of Two” and “Committee of Eight”
Some 50 years after Joyce studied Speech at Northwestern University, her path crossed with former classmate. They shared life experiences only to discover they both still loved and were performing musical theatre, now as ‘aging ingenues.’ Thus, Committee of Two was born, and then came Committee of Eight.
Joyce Stern Greenberg, who wrote and performs in Committee of Two, was a show biz kid and has worked over the years as a singing comedienne, actress, teacher, director, producer, writer, and host of a cable television series. From 1986-96, Joyce was producing artistic director of the senior performing troupes, Acting Up! and Acting Up Too! From 2009-12, she directed the intergenerational Spotlighters at the Wilmette Theatre in Wilmette, IL. In addition to performing Committee of Two, Joyce has directed An Intergenerational Salute to Movie Music, with a cast of 35, as well as a short comedy for the Sun City Grand Drama & Comedy Club Cabaret Players. From 1994- 2017, Joyce served on the Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee in Chicago, which awards excellence in professional theatre. In the show:
Sandy Greenberg graduated from Loyola University’s Theatre Arts school and has played many principal roles. Among her favorites are Anna in King and I, Marian in Music Man, Lola in Damn Yankees and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. Sandy recently appeared as Gillian Holroyd in Bell Book and Candle in Surprise, AZ.
Allan Kaye’s musical expertise has enhanced the Chicago musical scene for over five decades, as a concert pianist, musical conductor, orchestra leader for social and corporate events, and director of an entertainment organization covering musical groups, dancers and vocalists. Though he is retired from the business side of music, he loves the continuing challenge of ongoing musical opportunities. Allan has been musical director for many of Joyce’s musicals in the Chicago area and has been delighted to continue partnering with her in Committee of Two and An Intergenerational Salute to Movie Music at Sun City Grand.
Committee of Two and Committee of Eight are both ideal entertainment for luncheons, banquets, fundraisers, special events, reunions, retirement communities and wherever audiences gather. The shows are available for bookings in the West Valley/Phoenix area.
