A woman is raking photographs into a pile like leaves blown from trees after a storm. A man approaches seeking forgiveness for a betrayal that has ravaged their relationship. As she rakes, he examines the photographs prompting memories and images from the past, real or imagined. He wants her to give him the rake so he can clean up the mess, but she resists his entreaties. The poetic exchange about who will clean up the littered yard, and how, evokes a pas de deux between lovers encountering the wound of betrayal and the hunger for forgiveness, testing whether the bond of love is strong enough to hold them. This is a lovely, well written show and a joy to perform.
