REUNION AT MT. SANGUINE Doug Stewart
4 Men and 6 Women Royalty: $30 per performance
This a warm and humorous script of a 50th high school reunion. The colorful group returns to a small Midwestern farm town along with their pasts and their futures. Against a background of Big Band music, the one act is successful as readers theatre or as a staged production. It makes for quite an evening! 3rd Place Winner, Oklahoma Community Theatre Association New Play Contest!
I’m 72 and have been dabbling in all phases of community theatre for 20 years, but this is the first time I’ve gotten goose bumps delivering lines during rehearsals and bringing teary eyes to fellow thespians. Joan Alice Hall

“We had a wonderful show with “The Reunion at Mt. Sanguine.” People said it was our best show ever! Here’s how we did it:
The early-arriving audience members were taught the fight song; so at beginning of show did slide show, then the fight song. It went over so well.
The costumes were clothes you’d wear if you were attending a reunion. \
We have a small stage so in the restroom scene, the men were on one side and the men on the other. We added signs, “Boys” and “Girls,” to delineate the areas. Actors faced the audience, pretending to be primping in the mirror.
We used songs to cover with the slide projection screen was rising. We deleted the blackouts and just transitioned from scene to scene. It kept the play moving along smoothly. The show ran 102 minutes including a 15-minute intermission, just the perfect length!
What a great show! We loved it and the audience loved it!
