Heart of the Hills Players in their recent production of Funny Stuff
Heart of the Hills Players began performing 25 years ago when they presented the delightful old fashioned melodrama, Wedded But No Wife at the original Older Persons Commission building in Rochester, MI. Only a few people were involved then, but now the group has over 100 members and supporters.
The company performs three shows a year. In the spring, they stage a Broadway musical and six one-act comedies. In the fall, the company presents a musical variety show in the fall and a production of several short plays.
Over the years, the company has presented over 46 productions including Arsenic and Old Lace, Mame, Oklahoma, Anything Goes, Lil’ Abner, Rumors, 70 Girls 70, Laugh-In, Pajama Game, Guys and Dolls and Oklahoma.
South Pacific was the company’s first show in their new home in the Warren Michigan Community Center with its grand 500-seat theatre. Enthusiastic audiences from Macomb, Oakland and Wayne Counties in the Detroit metropolitan area regularly attend the company’s offerings.
Heart of the Hills is registered as a tax-free Michigan Non-Profit Corporation and is certified as a Federal 501(C)3 organization.
Heart of the Hills Players is always looking for and encouraging new members. Their goal is to offer a gratifying theatre experience for senior performers, both onstage and backstage. The group takes pride in living up to its reputation as “The finest senior community theatre in Michigan!”
