In her early ‘gypsy days,’ Harriet appeared in national touring shows of Hello, Dolly! and in On A Clear Day You Can See Forever. Ms. Shields was the likely role model for "Victor" in Victor/Victoria and honored as The First Great Grandmother of British Music Hall. She will perform this show on the Royal Caribbean “Independence of the Seas” in a Fall 2011 cruise sailing from the UK to Portugal and Spanish Islands.
Ms. Lynn is the founder of Heritage Theatre Artists' Consortium. Since 1994 she has been producing and directing numerous museum theatre, living history, oral history theatre performances, and Senior Theatre programs locally, regionally, and nationally. Including a collaboration with the Baltimore Museum of Art’s Recollection: Life Through Art and Levy’s Ghost. She serves as a consultant to the Maryland Historical Society as co-program manger/director for the new Maryland Historical Society Players, see www.mdhs.org.
Harriet Lynn was the Artistic Director of the Howard County (MD) Arts Council's celebrated Fabulous 50+ Players for ten years, as director and choreographer. Their work appeared in the Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, and other publications.
Harriet facilitated and directed seniors in Life Stories/Life Lessons, an oral history program for intergenerational audiences. Using seniors from various ethnic and racial backgrounds, Harriet weaved their stories with songs to create East-Side West Side Life Stories. The popular show was performed at museums and national conferences.
Lynn is a member of International Museum and Theatre Alliance, Oral History Mid-Atlantic Region (former board member), Maryland Women's Heritage Center, Baltimore Theatre Alliance (a founding board member) and the Greater Baltimore Theatre Alliance as well as a member of Actors Equity Association, AFTRA and SAG.
