FAQ

The Senior Theatre Resource Center

Here are our frequently asked questions. Feel free to contact us if you have others or if you need more information. We’re here to help you!

How can I pay for my order?

You can pay by using:

Phone: Call us for information or to order with your Visa or MasterCard. Our number is 503-246-3000.

Fax: Print the order form and fax it to 503-246-3006.

Email: Click here to send us your order.

Online Ordering: Use the ‘Add to cart’ button located below each product, then proceed to ‘check out.’

Mail: Print the order form and send with credit card number and expiration date, check, or money order (in U.S. Dollars).

How do international PayPal orders work?

We appreciate our many international customers. Thanks! PayPal cannot calculate international shipping costs because distance and weight of each package varies greatly. We have over 200 products, all weighing different amounts, traveling different distances.

As a result, we assemble your order and then compute the processing and/or shipping fee. Then, we send you a PayPal "Request for Funds." The minimum processing fee for international orders is $7 US.

Once PayPal notifies us that the fee has been paid, we'll get your materials to you promptly.

How do e-scripts & e-documents work?

Once we receive your order, we process it, then we email your plays/materials to you. Currently, the e-scripts and e-documents like TipSheets cannot be downloaded automatically. A processing fee applies to e-scripts and e-documents, a minimum of $6.

Let us know if you need the materials in a hurry. We’ll do everything possible to rush them to you.

Do we have to pay royalty if we perform for free?

Yes, royalty is payable for all performances whether the shows are paid or not. Our fees are very low and they help the playwrights keep doing their fine work. Some materials have no royalty fee. The amount is listed on the inside cover of each play or book. You can also contact us for quotes.

Contact us when you know your show dates and we’ll send you an invoice to make it easy for you to submit payment. Royalties are due two weeks before the performance.

Click here for more information about royalty.

Can I edit or re-write a play?

Copyright laws require that you use the play as written. However, since community sensibilities vary widely, contact us if you need to edit scripts or to switch gender of the characters.

Can I copy the script?

Copyright laws require that you purchase cast copies of the plays. We offer them at a discount. Check inside each book or play because some publishers allow you to copy the plays for your organization.

When you order e-scripts, we give you permission to make cast copies--a nice savings!

How do I get permission to use music in our shows?

You need to write to the publisher for permission. The information is usually listed on each page of the sheet music. An ASCAP license does not give you permission to perform music. It’s only applicable for lobby and non-performance use.

The benefit of using scripted musicals is that you don’t have to write all of those permission letters!
