The Crescent Cafe

The Crescent Cafe

I was having dinner at the Crescent Cafe, a wonderful restaurant in nearby McMinnville, Oregon. In the restroom, there is a photo of the city at the turn of the century with a caption that reads:

We're large enough to be substantial
Young enough to be ambitious
Big enough to be industrous and
Small enough to be friendly.

It made me think that this is exactly how I see our company, ArtAge's Senior Theatre Resource Center. We have a substantial collection of plays, books, and materials along with a vibrant stream of consulting and marketing clients and speaking engagement audiences. Yet, we're always looking for new opportunites. Because we're in arts and aging we have to continually analyze how we do things to make improvments. Then, our prompt and personalized service helps us connect in a personal way with our customers.

I challenge you to take a new look at your mission and make sure it's just where you want to be. Remember, that one of the main things is, as our Mothers taught us, to always say, "Thank You!"

In this month of Thanksgiving, thank you to all of our devoted customers who insure that ArtAge is large, young, big, and small!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Having fun learning about Senior Theatre

Having fun learning about Senior Theatre

Minnesota is truly taking the lead in Senior Theatre. The Minnesota Creative Arts and Aging Network recently presented the first regional conference in the field. It was an honor for Bonnie Vorenberg, ArtAge President, to present the workshop and the keynote address. Not only did we all have fun, but the most common evaluation term was, "inspired!" Indeed, we were inspired to be at the renown Guthrie Theatre, then futher inspired when we saw the many Senior Theatre lovers exploring several of the kinds of theatre that work well with older performers.

We look forward to watching the next step--more new and improved Senior Theatre experiences for those in the Minnesota area.

Check out our short photo collage which is sure to encourage you to present a regional workshop in your area.
